Pumpkin Hummus

Our Pumpkin Hummus is a fiber-packed, protein-rich twist on the classic dip—blending creamy chickpeas, spiced pumpkin, and zesty seasonings for a nutrient-dense snack that’s both energizing and irresistibly flavourful—enjoy!

Ingredients

10 small pita
14 oz. can chickpeas, drained
1 cup pumpkin puree
2½ tbsp. garlic, chopped
2 tbsp. tahini
2 tbsp. lemon juice

5 tsp. olive oil
½ tsp. chili powder
½ tsp. cumin powder
½ tsp. cayenne pepper
Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Once the oven is hot, place the pita in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, and bake for 4 to 6 minutes per side.

3. While the pita bakes/toasts, place the chickpeas, pumpkin, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, chili powder, cumin powder, cayenne pepper, and salt in a food processor to blend until smooth.

4. Once the pumpkin hummus is smooth and the pita is toasted, serve them up together, and enjoy!

Tip

This is a really easy meal/snack to prepare ahead of time! Simply store the pita in a Ziploc bag on the counter/in the pantry and the hummus in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to a week.
